A motorist’s dash cam video captured the moment a cyclist went over a barrier and fell 100 ft to his death.
TAMPA, FL—Last Friday, in what can only be described as a freak accident, two cyclists were speeding through traffic on SR-400, west of 50th Street in Tampa when they collided.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers say that, seconds after the collision, 35-year-old Eric Jordan was sent over an overpass.
“The first motorcycle came to a stop,” according to News Channel 8, “and the bike driven by Jordan collided with the shoulder barrier wall. Jordan was ejected over the side of the overpass and fell approximately 100 feet onto 50th Street.”
The motorcycle that Jordan collided with initially stopped, then the rider fled the scene leaving his passenger.
FHP later able to identify him “with driver records, social media, and anonymous tips,” reports News Channel 8.
The FHP crash report says charges are pending based on the outcome of the investigation which is still ongoing.
