MARYVILLE, TN—On Friday, Maryville police arrested Howard Matthew Webb, 31, for allegedly placing his testicles in a salsa container that was then delivered to a low-tipping customer last month.
The incident happened in January when a meal was ordered from a Mexican restaurant through a company called Dinner Delivered.
Dinner Delivered then had one of its deliver drivers—a woman who had driven for the company since November—pick up the food and deliver the meal to the unsuspecting customer.
Along the way, the delivery driver and her companion, Webb, apparently decided that the customer’s past tips were insufficient and Webb decided to “contaminate” the customer’s salsa.
When the video became went viral and Dinner Delivered discovered it, they immediately fired the driver and contacted police.
On Friday, Maryville police arrested Webb and charged himwith “adulteration of food, liquids, or pharmaceuticals,” a Class C felony.
If convicted, Webb faces a possible sentence of three to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
“Police opened an investigation after Dinner Delivered contacted them about the video,” Maryville Police Chief Tony Crisp told Knoxville News. “The driver has not been charged, but the investigation is ongoing.”
Dinner Delivered has since refunded the customer her money.
There is no word on how much the driver was tipped for the offending delivery, however.
